The 2008-2009 school year saw GPDA continue its domination amongst Kansas High School diving, winning both the boys' and girls' state meets, and with GPDA divers scattered throughout the medalist and finalist positions.
On the Boys' side, GPDA divers placed 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 8th securing a full half of the awarded medals. On the Girls' side GPDA divers fared even better placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 10th, 11th, 14th, and 16th, accounting for over half of the medalists and over half of the finalists.
Since the 2005 Girls' State Meet GPDA/KCDC divers have won 7 of the last 9 state titles, and have averaged almost 50% of all medalists and finalists.
